At peak times, there are more than 20,000 total players at the tables with action concentrated to the Texas Hold’em games. They are based in Canada and at this time they have remained committed to serving the US market. VegasPoker247 is a comprehensive, interactive online poker room, providing such features as hand history, stat retrieval, player note taking, chat, locate a player, six table play, and representative image selection. As the Absolute Poker network continues to grow, the games do appear to be loosening up a bit which always has been an issue while playing at Absolute Poker or their skins.

VegasPoker247 offers the following games: Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo and Razz.

VegasPoker247’s Texas Hold’em lower stakes Fixed Limit and NL traffic is good just about any time of day. At the higher Limit tables, above $25/$50, you will only find action at peak hours… the same goes for the NL $10/$25 and above. The games in general do have a reputation of being fairly tight though especially at the mid and upper stakes. The flop percentages over all have been going up over the last few months as the site has seemed to hit a growth spurt which is always encouraging.

They have a good selection of Texas Hold’em tourneys with a fair amount of guaranteed tourneys offered daily and a few big guaranteed tourneys (a $150k and a $60k) offered on the weekends. VegasPoker247 offers over $1,000,000 every month in guaranteed prize money . They have both re-buy and non re-buy tourneys as well as a large selection of satellites, if you don’t want to pony up the full buy-in for the bigger prize tourneys. They also offer a good selection of WSOP satellites daily if you what to try to win your way into the 'big show'. The 1, 2, 3 and 5 table Sit and Go’s are quite popular and fill up quickly especially during peak hours. VegasPoker247 has a wide selection of Heads-Up action to meet just about anyone’s stakes requirements.

The games at VegasPoker247’s Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo tables are about what you would expect for a site of this size with about 70% of the player base being US, which is to say if you are into higher stakes (above $5/10) Omaha games you may be in for a wait before you get someone to sit with you. The Omaha action is better at the lower stakes in both regular Omaha and Hi/Lo.

As for the 7 Card Stud and 7 Card Hi/Lo, the action is pretty scarce at any time day or night. The same can be said for RAZZ as well.

VegasPoker247 has most of the advanced features such as; multi-table play (up to 6 ring games), hand replay, and the software can integrate with Poker Tracker. Players can also choose different card room skins or create their own custom card room theme so the most finicky player can find a poker room layout that they like.

In addition to the past “buggy” reputation, VegasPoker247, along with its cousin, Absolute Poker, has also been the butt of jokes for having some of the ugliest tables in the industry. The graphics were, to put it quite simply, hideous. In August 2007, however, an update to its software client was released, which introduced a sleeker looking interface at the virtual tables. Two new table views were added, in addition to the “classic” view: a three-quarter view and a second overhead view. “Fold” markers were added so that it is easier to tell who is no longer in the hand (the cards in front of the seats are small), but they tend to be distracting to multi-tablers, especially because they overshadow the dealer button.

In the “classic” view, players can download different skins to customize the look of the tables, but those skins are not available yet for the new table views. Players can also use a personal avatar, which is rather large and can be annoying to some, but they can be turned off.

The sound effects are clear however the ‘check’ sound makes two rapid clicks so it can appear that two players are checking instead of one. Recently they have added a visual graphic to signify the player checking which does limit confusion some what.

VegasPoker247 offers a chat feature and you have the ability to block anyone’s chat with whom you do not wish to speak with. It is easy to use and can provide some good card room banter just make sure you keep it clean or you may lose your chat privileges. They also allow players to create their own tourneys, which is a very popular feature. A “Stat” button is also available, which provides an at-a-glance view of your playing stats such as your flops viewed etc.

The lobby is very easy to navigate through. VegasPoker247 has done a nice job in their design. There are separate tabs for Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, Tourneys, Sit and Go’s. Each tab has sub tabs as well for more defined searching. Columns can also be sorted by the table name, stakes, numbers of players etc. Displayed are the Players per Table, Wait, Average pot, Players per Flop, Hands per Hour all of which is very helpful as you look for the games that fit your needs. The tourney lobby is great. You can easily search for whatever you are looking for whether it is a satellite, one of the many guaranteeds or freerolls. They are all displayed very clearly and in a well organized fashion. VegasPoker247 does offer Blackjack as their only house game and the icon can be blocked from view if it is just too tempting for some.

The player wait feature can use some improvement. If a player goes on a wait list for multiple tables, once one of the tables opens up, the player is removed from all the other table wait lists. This can be most frustrating for the multi-tabler but for the average player who is waiting for the next (one) available table this is not big deal.

They have frequent reload bonuses which are in the 20-25% range. They have recently changed the bonus clearing schedule and it has become more difficult to clear but players are still given 60 days to try to clear what the can.

VegasPoker247 has a number of features to protect your privacy. The client software uses the certificates issued by their own Certificate Authority (CA) to authenticate their servers. VegasPoker247 software authenticates their servers by using the industry standard DES combined with AP's custom encryption algorithm. They use 256 bit encryption to ensure the highest level of privacy and confidentiality of data both to and from VegasPoker247's servers.

They offer email support only at this time. It can be slow at times but the responses are usually accurate and helpful.
