The Poker Club Review
The Poker Club is the leading poker room in the Power Network, sharing the software and player base. Power Network is in a build up phase so the traffic is not high as of today. But The Poker Club has a good tradition of nice promotions. The network is marketing aggressively, so the player volumes should go up. They get around 1,000 connected players at peak times; so they are definitely on one of the smaller poker rooms around. The Power Network software is very similar to Prima Poker software. The graphics leaves room for improvement and so does the functionality. The Poker Club is the best choice among the rooms in the Power Network.
The Poker Club Game Types:
The Poker Club offeres Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud and Hi/Lo, and 3 Card Poker. They also have a casino and sportsbook.
The Texas Hold’em games are geared towards the lower stakes and start at $0.02/$0.04 and cap out at $5/$10. The action is pretty good at any time of day for such a small site. The Poker Club offers a choice of No Limit of Fixed Limit only for their Texas Hold’em players. The games are about average as far as softness.
The Poker Club offers two flavors of Omaha, Hi and Hi/Lo. For Omaha Hi, they offer NL, PL and Limit with almost no action what-so-ever at any of the tables. The Omaha Hi/Lo usually does have a couple of very low stake ($0.04/$0.08) tables going. Any other Omaha game is hard to come by. The site just does not have enough traffic to have more games.
The action at the 7 Card Stud tables is about the same as the Omaha. No action at the 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo tables and very very little at the regular 7 Card tables. If you are looking for games other than Texas Hold’em you will not find enough action here.
The Poker Club offers Heads Up action for Hold’em, Omaha, and 7 Card. Again you may be in for a long wait to have someone sit down and join you for a game. The Tournament selection is about what you would expect from a site this size. They have a little bit of everything but not a whole lot of one thing.
The Poker Club offers both Guaranteed and non Guaranteed tourneys. The prize pools are small with no Guaranteed tourneys over $750 at the time of this writing. The Sit and Go’s cover 2, 6, 8, and 10 player seats. Again, be prepared to wait for your table to fill up.
The Poker Club Software and Features:
The software of The Poker Club is…well...let's just say there is room for improvement. In trying to navigate the Main Lobby when you click on the ‘Tournament’ tab a whole other lobby pops up dedicated to MMT and SNG’s. This new lobby looks just like the Main Lobby except for the tabs, they even have their news scroll at the top of this secondary lobby. They are the only site, that I know of, that does this and it can be a bit awkward. Also, in the Main Lobby when you click on the ‘Integrity’ tab you are taken to the home page of the main site again, which is a bit confusing. There is nothing that covers integrity on that page. The other tabs on the Main Lobby page seem to function sporadically at least on the day of this writing. For example, after clicking on the “Promos” tab a screen pops up and displays an ‘error’ message. After many attempts, I gave up. The other tabs in the lobby such as the Cashier and My Account did not work very consistently for the most part. It was a fairly frustrating experience.
The Main Lobby navigation is easy with the games displayed clearly and the filters worked well. The Main Lobby page does not feature any banners or pop-ups giving an overall professional look. As mentioned before, they do have a scroll at the top of the page that promotes tournaments and other events. It is not distraction in any way; yet you still notice it enough to read it. The Poker Club provides all the game stats that you need to choose a table such as average pot size, players/flop and hands/ hour.
The Poker Club has one feature I really like in the lobby: a ‘Hide Full Tables’ button. It removes them from lobby view so you can look for an available seat only in the games you are looking for. I wish more sites offered this. The down side is that at The Poker Club you will not have the need to use it very often. This is due to the lack of over all traffic.
The card room layout at The Poker Club is average. They offer both short handed and full 10 seat tables. The color scheme is not too busy and they have good spacing between seats. The rooms do have chairs that are empty with no avatar option. They just feature the player’s nickname and chip stack. The dealer action is quick and smooth. The table cards are large and clear with good spacing between them. From an esthetic point of view, the card room is very nicely laid out. The Poker Club offers a chat option, as well as a notes window, both are very easy and straight forward to use. They do provide a ‘stat’ window which, of course, is very handy and easy to use as well.
The sign up bonus at The Poker Club is 20% up to $100. For a site this size I would expect more. They do offer reload bonuses from time to time. A loyalty/comp program is available where players earn points for real money play and can redeem the points for special prizes.

The Poker Club offers email, live chat, and toll free phone support for the US and UK. They seem to do a good job in response time and answers are clear and helpful.
