Gaming Club Poker  Review

The Gaming Club has joined forces with PokerTime, one of the world’s top poker rooms and part of the Microgaming Poker Network (formerly Prima Poker ) , a collective of online casinos and poker rooms, designed to bring you the ultimate in gaming entertainment. It is a global card room network where players from different card rooms play against each other. In this way, you are able to play against one or more players, not the dealer, unlike poker games offered at online casinos.

There are never house players in the Prima Poker Network, as players from card rooms around the world are brought together to play each other in one huge, seamless network - promising action for every player at any time.

It is a medium to large site with about 20,000 players on at peak times. Dream Poker shares the same player base and software platform with all the other skins on the Microgaming network so if you have played at sites such as Arctic Poker or Dream Poker you will feel right at home.

Gaming Club Poker  Game Types:

Gaming Club Poker offers No-Limit, Pot-Limit, and Fixed-Limit Texas Hold’em, Pot-Limit and Fixed-Limit Omaha (both high and high/low variations), 7 Card Stud, and 5 Card Stud. Stakes range from nickel games all the way up to $100/$200 for both Fixed and No-Limit games. Most of the Fixed-Limit hold’em action is at the $0.50/$1 through $2/$4 tables, whereas No-Limit players primarily stick to $1/$2 and lower. There is almost no action at the Fixed-Limit Omaha tables – if you want to play Omaha at Gaming Club Poker, you will need to play Pot-Limit.

Gaming Club Poker also has plenty of tournaments from which to choose. Many Sit-and-Go options are available, from standard, 10-person contests, to short-handed, heads-up, and multi-table games. Additionally, Gaming Club Poker has “Rounders” tables, which are special Sit-and-Go’s which give players the chance to win big money for a small buy-in. The Rounders tournaments consist of five levels – the top finishers in one level advance to the next. Some players will be able to redo a level, depending on finish, while the rest will have to start over. Players can also buy-in directly to any of the levels. Level one is only a $5 + $0.50 buy-in, but make it to level five, a $550 + $55 buy-in, and first place wins $3,000.

Of course, Multi-Table tournaments are also in abundance at Gaming Club Poker. Guaranteed prize pools, re-buys, freezeouts, and freeroll can all be found amongst the choices. The structure at Gaming Club Poker is good, too – players start with 1,500 chips and blinds only go up every twelve minutes, so there is plenty of time to play solid poker.

Like most online poker rooms, Gaming Club Poker holds tournaments in which players can win seats to prestigious live poker events. Satellites, in the form of both Sit-and-Go’s and Multi-Table tournaments, are running around the clock. Gaming Club Poker stands out from the other rooms with its World Series of Poker (WSOP) satellites. In addition to awarding seats at the main event, in 2006 it is also gave players the choice to compete for seats into other events, such as stud and Omaha. Also in 2006, Gaming Club Poker awarded one astounding prize to a skilled player – entry into every single event at the WSOP, plus 60 days accommodations, travel, and $3,500 spending money!

Gaming Club Poker offers a good initial deposit bonus, 100% up to $200, but it is hard to clear. They have a loyalty program as well where you earn points with your real money play and can exchange the points for cash.

Gaming Club Poker  Software and Features:

Gaming Club Poker software is just average. The dealer action is smooth but not particularly fast. There is a text history account of the table action that scrolls up the right side of the card room. It can help you follow the game easier and you can read who did what rather than have to remember on the fly.

The sound effects are clear and do not take away from the game. On the table, it displays in text form what your hand rank is i.e. One pair- Six’s. This feature can be helpful for beginners. The tables are 10 player max and they do offer short handed 6 player tables as well. Gaming Club Poker card room graphics are not as clear as some other sites and the carpet can be a little distracting.

Over all the look and feel is about average compared to other sites. One feature that does separate them from the hoards of other poker rooms is the ability for players to create their own private games. Players can choose to set up cash games, SNG’s and Multi Table tournaments. They do support multi-tabling if you are up for the challenge.

The lobby filters are very easy to use and players can navigate through the game selection with minimal effort. The lobby game columns provide as much information as any other site displaying fields like; players/flop, average pot size, and hands per hour.

Statistics and note-taking are available at the tables. Hand histories can also be requested, as well as stored on your hard drive, if you so desire. While Gaming Club Poker has a player search function, it does not have a buddy list feature.

Gaming Club Poker  Behind the Scenes at:

Gaming Club Poker uses the 128-bit encryption technology when transferring data over the Internet. The way this top-of-the-line system works, to keep players and their money safe when playing at Gaming Club Poker, is each player is issued with a unique account number, which is protected by their own password that they alone can access.

Gaming Club Poker does have 24/7 phone support that is accessible with toll free numbers for the UK, Canada and Denmark. There email support is inconsistent with response times but the information is usually accurate.
