The selection of games available includes Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud and Five Card Draw, varying from No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit. The stakes for the No Limit ring games are from 5¢/10¢ to $10/$20 and from 25¢/50¢ to $100/$200 for the Limit ring games. The best action at the site by far is at the short handed NL and PL Texas Hold’em tables especially at the lower limits. As for the action at the higher stakes, off peak hour is very scarce.

Fortune Poker offers a variety of guaranteed tournaments daily in a variety of styles and structures. The player volume of the tournaments is good.

Overall action at the Omaha tables is pretty scarce at any time of day or night, however Pot Limit Omaha has been picking up recently and there are some very good games to be had there.

Five card and Seven Card games are rare to extinct at this point in time. If you are looking to play these games look elsewhere.

Fortune Poker currently offers a few satellites to some big live events such as the WSOP Main Event; in fact for 2007 they are offering a $13,000 package to the World Series of Poker. This promotion is comprised of the $10,000 entry to the Main Event plus $3,000 for travel/accommodation expenses. Also for 2007 they offered a $4,800 package to the Helsinki Midnight Sun 2007 Poker Tournament in Sweden for their growing European player base. Fortune Poker has ok software but there is defiantly some room for improvement. The lobby has an outdated look and there are no special features, which could affect the long-term popularity of the poker room considering that many of the competitors offer advanced options and features. Even though a useful find-a-friend feature is available, the lobby is missing some things. Multi-tabling is supported at up to five tables simultaneously but the software is not well suited for multi-table play, the interface is a bit slow at times and a mini-view feature is not available.

Another negative aspect of the lobby is that it displays too many currencies. The user base is split into sub sections based on the continent, which complicates the table listings. Players usually prefer sites that stick to one currency and providing a currency exchanges calculator. The tables look outdated, though the graphics are decent. There’s an option to make the tables full-screen, which is a nice idea.

A “request hand history” option is available at the table. The site will present the information immediately after the end of every game, displaying the last five hands that the user played. In the card room one graphic that is interesting is a circular colored countdown timer around the username of each player when is their turn to act. This makes it very easy to follow the action and is one of the highlights of Fortune Poker’s card room graphics. The software is simple but it works well, a little modernization would help a lot.

The daily $200 freeroll is a nice incentive for the loyal players, though Fortune Poker has to improve the promotional side of the business a bit more. This site does offer a sign-up bonus from time to time but not a whole lot of reloads. They also lack a points/rewards program.
