The Party Poker Million IV took place aboard Holland America’s Oosterdam from March 19, 2005 to March 26, 2005. 735 players comprised the field for a total prize pool of $7,207,108 and guaranteeing two lucky players at least $1,000,000 in this limit Texas Holdem event.
Thanks to Party Poker, I was lucky enough to personally play in the event. However, my luck ran dry on the very first day and was eliminated in about 640th place by Scott Fishman. I spent the rest of my Party Poker Million IV cruise playing No Limit Texas Holdem cash games. Since I was already eliminated, I didn’t pay much attention to the tournament at hand, but did stop to watch the final day of the action when it was down to 6 players. The whole World Poker Tour crew was there including Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten, and the lovely Shana Hiatt. The WPT set was quite impressive and it was fun being a part of the studio audience. All and all, this was one of the best trips of my life. Once Party Poker makes satellites available, I highly recommend taking your shot at qualifying for the Party Poker Million V later this year. I hope to see you there.
