The World Series of Poker Academy, poker's premier series of instructional camps where participants learn first-hand from the world’s greatest poker players, announced today details for the first-ever poker camp focused exclusively on advanced No Limit Texas Hold’em theory and strategy.
Scheduled for April 18 – 19, 2008, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the WSOP Academy’s No Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy will be the most comprehensive, two-day poker camp and experience ever offered, covering “next-level” topics such as winning cash game strategy, advanced tournament stage strategy, heads-up strategy, advanced mathematics of poker and much, much more.
A “dream team” of instructors for the No Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy include many of the game’s best and brightest, including Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, Phil Gordon, Paul Wasicka, Andy Bloch, Alex Outhred and many, many others. Acclaimed poker tells expert Joe Navarro, a retired FBI agent and leading authority on non-verbal communications, will also be on hand to present an advanced seminar on decoding poker tells.
“If you’ve ever attended a poker camp before or you’re a serious student of the game, now is the time to graduate to the next level,” said Jeff Goldenberg of Post Oak Productions, the company that produces the WSOP Academy. “With our team of world-class instructors, our No Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy is the sure-fire way to elevate your game to new heights.”
Beyond just delivering the best in poker instruction with in-depth seminars, live hand analysis and interactive workshops, the No Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy will also offer the opportunity for participants to hang out and play poker with many of the biggest names in the game as well as compete for two $10,000 buy-in seats to the No Limit Hold’em World Championship at the 2008 World Series of Poker. The two Main Event seats will be awarded to the winners of private tournaments held at the end of each day of the Academy.
“We’re thrilled to be giving away two seats to the 2008 WSOP Main Event,” said Goldenberg. “Last summer we had one of our participants, Sally Ann Boyer, go from Academy grad one day to world champion the next. That’s the kind of confidence and skills students take away from our Academy, and we expect our seat winners to compete at the absolute highest level at this year’s WSOP.”
The WSOP Academy’s No Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy is the latest in the groundbreaking series of poker camp programs presented by the WSOP Academy, which are held throughout the year in Harrah's hotels and casinos across the U.S. From sessions that focus on all aspects of No Limit Texas Hold 'em to special editions like the WSOP Academy Main Event Primer, which prepares participants for poker's richest and most prestigious event, the WSOP Academy offers amateur poker players of all skill levels the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn directly from the champions of the game and perhaps become champions themselves.
The cost of the No Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy is $1,999. Space is limited, and the event is expected to sell out well in advance. Additional details for the event and all other Academy events are available at www.WSOPA.com.
