WPT No Longer Shopping PPT Show Around

World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) announced Thursday that an “unnamed” cable network has pulled its offer to buy the licensing rights to the Professional Poker Tour. WPTE is now back in negotiations with its current television partner, The Travel Channel.

As reported here last week, the network with which WPTE was in talks was ESPN. The Travel Channel allegedly sent threatening letters to both WPTE and ESPN when the two began negotiations. In turn, WPTE sued The Travel Channel for interference. Despite everything, the two parties are back to work on a deal.

WPTE shares rose slightly Thursday, up 0.67% to $9.04, less than two dollars above its 52-week low of $7.65.
