The WPT Legends of Poker tournament kicked off this weekend at The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California. The field is 25% larger than last year’s, won by Doyle Brunson, growing to 839 players. It is so big, in fact, that the first “day” was split into two flights, with 494 players competing on Day One and 345 on Day Two. Players were assigned their days on a first-come, first-served basis.
About 140 players were still standing after the first two days and will be merged when Day 3 commences on Monday. Buy-in was $5,000 to make the total prize pool $4.195 million. First prize for this event is $1.125 million. The payout structure and chip leaders are listed below.
