World Series of Poker Going High-Def

Have you ever been watching poker on television and said to yourself, “Man, I wish I could see every pore on that player’s face.”  No?  Well, too bad, because this summer, you will be able to do just that.

For the first time, ESPN will broadcast the World Series of Poker in high definition.  This will reportedly include all of the events that the network will air, not just the Main Event.  It is doubtful, however, that the hole card cameras will be high definition, but does that really matter?

The World Series of Poker will be the second poker television show to be broadcast in HD.  The first was the National Poker League’s Vegas Poker Open, which runs on the INHD cable network.
