World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) announced this week that it a deal has been struck to allow it to air the World Poker Tour television show in Asia.
The shows to be broadcast will not be first run episodes. Instead, WPTE will air its first season on Macau Cable in Macau for the initial year and then show the second season the following year on MediaCorp, which is Singapore’s largest television broadcaster.
Macau has become a large gambling center in southeast Asia, now accentuated by the opening of the new Wynn Macau casino. Galaxy Casinos and MGM Mirage also have building projects on the way.
