World Poker Tour Enterprises announced Wednesday that it has inked six license agreements for the World Poker Tour (WPT) in an effort to expand its brand licensing efforts. Instead of just issuing a simple list of the WPT partners, Poker News Daily is pleased to present the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of the new WPT licenses.
The Good
Zippo – this company makes high quality, fashionable lighters, and will produce four designs for smokers who double as poker players.
Hot Properties! Merchandising, Inc. – makers of “stuff”, such as magnets, key chains, and coasters. Everybody likes “stuff”, so there should be something for every WPT fan.
MZ Berger – will make WPT clocks and digital poker-play watches.
The Bad
Frankford Candy – WPT chocolates?
Pacific Direct – the company’s Talking Bottle Opener will spout WPT sound bites when used. Thrilling.
The Ugly
Shell Auto Expressions – now WPT fanatics can show off on the road with WPT air fresheners, floor mats, seat covers, and more.
Steven Lipscomb, CEO and Founder of the WPT is excited about the deals, saying, “Consumer demand for WPT-branded merchandise has been very gratifying. With Father's Day around the corner we have lined up some very compelling alternatives to the traditional shirt and tie that poker Dads everywhere are going to love.”
So where is the WPT tie?
