While the final table at the WPT Legends of Poker tournament consisted of ten players, the action didn’t stop at 1:15am Wednesday after the eleventh place player was eliminated. This is the WPT, after all, and they have to whittle the field down to the “television” table, an oval six-strong. Finally, finally, at twenty minutes to six in the morning, the final six competitors were determined.
The remaining players, who will start play at 5:00pm PST on Wednesday, are as follows:
1. Todd Phillips - $1,900,000 2. Alex Kahaner - $1,855,000 3. Kenna James - $1,540,000 4. Jake Minter - $1,525,000 5. Tim Phan - $1,085,000 6. Kevin O'Donnell - $500,000
Phan had a particularly wild day, starting with $201,000 in chips. He knocked out players left and right, moving up to $600,000, then $1.2 million, then $2.2 million. Shortly before midnight, he was up to $3 million and completely dominating. Once the clock struck twelve, however, he started doubling people up and hobbled into the final six with just over $1 million.
