For everyone who is unable to join the festivities in person, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and ESPN have announced that both the 2005 WSOP and WSOP Circuit Tournaments will be broadcast every Tuesday night beginning July 19, culminating with the WSOP Main Event Championship finale November 15. All WSOP airings will span two one hour segments. The Circuit Tournament broadcasts will be one hour each, except for the first night, when fans will be treated to a bonus hour.
The Circuit Tournaments will be shown for the first five weeks, while the WSOP broadcasts will begin on August 23 and last through the final episode.
This year, the focus of the WSOP broadcasts, aside from the Main Event, looks to be No-Limit and Pot-Limit tournaments, and almost exclusively Texas Hold’em. Omaha will be featured twice – the $2,000 re-buy event airing September 6, and the $5,000 re-buy event on September 27. Seven Card Stud gets one episode on September 20, as does Limit Hold’em on October 4. The Main Event shows begin on October 11 and continue for six weeks.
The 2005 World Series of Poker begins this Thursday, June 2 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and is slated to conclude with the final table of the Main Event on July 15 at Binion’s Horseshoe Casino.
