The Poker Brat is giving back to the families of police officers that were killed in the line of duty. Next month, Phil Hellmuth, who is a ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, is joining with the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers and the Fort McDowell Casino in Arizona for the annual Playin' the Hand Poker Tournament Dec. 9.
This will be the second year that Phil Hellmuth hosts the tourney. Phil Hellmuth is known for his skills at the poker table and knowing when to lay down huge hands. Hellmuth is also known for his ill mannered behavior at the table.
This year, there are several options to enter the tourney than in previous years. There is the Main Event where the buy-in is 200 Dollars with multiple re-buys allowed until the break. At the break, all remaining players can do a 100 Dollar add-on. The “Higher Roller Event” is a 1,000 Dollar buy-in with multiple re-buys allowed until the break. Again, all remaining players at the break can do a 1,000 Dollar add-on. Players can also purchase a VIP Package as well. This package cost 5,000 Dollars and includes the following: 2 Seats in the Higher Roller Event, a suite at a premier hotel in Scottsdale for Saturday night, Limousine transportation with the VIP party all night, with VIP hostess service, private parties before and after the tourney, a commemorative TASER Foundation VIP Bracelet and more.
The winners of the Main Event and the Higher Roller Event will battle it out to see who wins the coveted prize. The grand prize is a 10,000 Dollar seat into the WSOP 2007!
"We are thrilled to bring Phil Hellmuth back for our second annual poker fundraiser," said TASER Foundation executive director Gerry Anderson. "Phil Hellmuth is a huge draw and anyone who watches the World Series of Poker knows that he brings his A-game to play."
The TASER Foundation provides financial assistance to families of the more than 150 police officers who die in the line of duty each year. Money raised through the tournament will go directly to these families. For more information, please visit: http://www.taserfoundation.org/.
