The Tain Poker Network and Tribeca Tables Europe, Ltd. announced a merger today which would bring all of the Tain Poker rooms over to the Tribeca network.
The benefit to Tain is that it instantly adds thousands of players to its tables. Tain's biggest weakness had always been its lack of players, with only around three to four thousand online at peak hours. Slow times would see Tain with less than a thousand players. While all of its poker rooms would move over to the Tribeca network, Tain plans to continue developing its own casino and sportsbook offerings.
For Tribeca, home of Golden Palace and Doyle's Room, among others, this merger helps it achieve a goal of moving into the strong, and growing, Scandinavian market. Tain was known for being a very Euro-centric, Scandinavian in particular, network. Tain's largest room, Expekt.com, is one of the dominant online poker rooms in Scandinavia.
Said Steve Cook, European Managing Director for Tribeca Tables, "As we are currently witnessing, the poker business is starting to consolidate. Tribeca feels that the company is correctly positioned to take advantage of a consolidating market."
