The Prima Poker brand will soon be no more. Microgaming, the gaming software company behind of the Prima Poker network and the Jackpot Madness casino network, announced this week that it will be consolidating its brands under the Microgaming umbrella. Both the Prima Poker and Jackpot Madness names will be phased out by late summer.
The new names will be the Microgaming Poker Network and the Microgaming Progress Network. A new company seal, reading “Powered by Microgaming,” will be displayed on all network sites.
Microgaming also announced that it (and, in turn, Prima Poker) will no longer run the Monte Carlo Millions poker tournament, won by Phil Ivey in 2005. The company has said, however, that it is pursuing several other opportunities.
The company’s CEO, Roger Raatgever, is excited about the change:
“We have led the industry for over a decade during which time separate brand names have served us brilliantly and helped our operators attract millions of new players to online gaming. Now we are entering a new stage of growth and we believe that by making these changes we are ready for this new era.”
Microgaming software is used by over 40 poker rooms and 120 casinos.
