PokerStars’ famed World Championship of Online Poker is ready to begin this Friday, September 14 with two events: a $215 buy-in no-limit hold’em shorthanded event and a $215 buy-in pot-limit five-card draw event. Over the course of the next two weeks, PokerStars will host 23 events in all with $15,000,000 in guaranteed prize money. Last year, PokerStars guaranteed $10,000,000 across 18 events, but the total prize pools soared to over $18,500,000. Professional poker player J.C. Tran won the Main Event and more than $600,000.
