PokerStars Launches Latin American Poker Tour

PokerStars is continuing to expand its reach throughout the world of live poker.  Already the official sponsor of the European and Asian Pacific Poker Tours, it is now set to launch the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT).

The LAPT, which will debut in May, will feature three stops for its first season: Rio de Janiero, Brazil, San Jose, Costa Rica, and Punta del Este, Uruguay.  The buy-in for each event is $2,500 (the Costa Rica and Uruguay have $200 entry fees, as well) and they all have a maximum capacity of 300 entrants.  Starting chip stacks will be $20,000 and the blinds will start at 50/100, increasing every hour.

Players may qualify on PokerStars.com, buy-in directly, or buy-in with W$ (this option is only available for PlatinumStar or Supernova VIP’s).
