When PokerStars introduced its Sunday Hundred Grand tournament last summer, it immediately became the largest (based on the number of entrants) non-freeroll tournament in history. With a maximum capacity of 15,000 entrants, it paid to 2,000 places, with the winner, “danolo83,” banking $18,900.
On Easter Sunday this past weekend, PokerStars upped the cap to 22,500 entrants, a ceiling which was reached with ease. Everyone at the final table made at least $1,000 and the winner, “bubbaloo2,” won $20,520.
It appears as if the Hundred Grand will continue to allow 22,500 entrants, as the lobby for the next one shows that cap as well. For an $11 buy-in, it’s a low-risk way to make some nice money. That is, if you have eight hours to spare.
