On Tuesday, Poker Source customer, CHAAWUU, lost the hand of his life…and won big. When his quad Tens fell to a straight flush in a hand of Texas hold’em, he may have lost the pot, but he scored the largest bad beat jackpot in Absolute Poker history, collecting $104,050.68. Absolute only recently instituted its bad beat jackpot, but it has already been hit four times in less than two weeks. CHAAWUU’s take was by far the largest of the four, three times greater than the next biggest jackpot. To win the bad beat jackpot at Absolute, players must play at specially designated real money jackpot tables (starting at $1/$2 fixed-limit and $0.50/$1 pot-limit and no-limit), where an extra $0.50 will be taken from each raked pot. When someone loses a hand while holding quad 8’s or better, all of the players who were dealt cards in the hand will share 70 percent of the jackpot (20 percent will seed the next jackpot, while 10 percent goes to Absolute). The loser of the hand gets 50 percent of the prize, the winner receives 25 percent, and the rest of the players split the remaining 25 percent. In CHAAWUU’s case, the total jackpot was up to almost $300,000, leaving $208,100.36 to be divided amongst the players in the hand. He was awarded $104,050.68, the winner of the hand won $52,025.34, and the rest of the players shared the other $52,025.34. CHAAWUU, from the state of New York, signed up for the Absolute Poker free money promotion, also known as Instant Bankroll, at Poker Source (http://www.pokersource.com/free-poker/money/) in May 2007. Through the promotion, Poker Source deposited a free $100 into his Absolute Poker account. From there, he was able to multiply it over one thousand times by winning the latest bad beat jackpot. The Poker Source community would like to congratulate CHAAWUU on his amazing haul and wishes him continued bad beats in the future!
