Poker Musical to Debut This Weekend

The above is not a misprint.  A musical about poker is set to debut at the Rio in Las Vegas this weekend as the World Series of Poker Main Event kicks off.  It is a musical.  About poker.  For all we know, it will be fantastic, but any and all head shaking and face palming is acceptable at the moment.

Harrah’s bills “All In: The Poker Musical” as “…fast-paced, sexy, witty and fun show about the final nine players at the WSOP, real people from all walks of life, professionals and average Joes.”

The production was created by Tim Molyneux, with assistance from Phil Hellmuth and the folks at the WSOP.  In a press release, Hellmuth had this to say about the musical:

"Through the lyrics of the songs and style of music, we see not only who these final nine players are, but we are able to see ourselves, our families, and our world."

The aforementioned songs includes such titles as “I’m Gonna Bad Beat You Boy,” “I Know My Pair Is Bigger Than Yours,” and “She’s Loose and Aggressive and Plays Top Pair.”

The one-hour show will only run July 4-5 at 7:30pm at the Rio.  Tickets are being sold for $30 and $50, plus tax.
