PokerTrillion Sues Boss Media, Switches Networks

Last week, online poker room PokerTrillion announced that it had filed a €45 million suit against Boss Media, the operator of the network on which PokerTrillion resides.  As a result, a garnishee, or freezing, order was placed on the bank accounts of Boss Holdings Limited and Boss Media Malta Poker Ltd.

PokerTrillion claims that personnel and/or management of Boss Media, along with its payment processor Webdollar, have engaged in fraudulent activities.  It is not exactly clear what PokerTrillion believes has happened, but the company definitely feels it has been wronged.

“As a small and new entrant to the market we are taking a zero tolerance approach to being mistreated by Boss Media,” said PokerTrillion CEO Andy Pyrah.

In a statement, the PokerTrillion made the following, somewhat vague statement:

“…it is to be expected that if Boss Media follow the proper code of conduct then they will shortly make a full and complete disclosure to the Stockholm Stock Exchange which they are listed on, this invariably will have a catastrophic effect on their share price, and may even lead to the arrest by the authorities of certain members of their management team and the possible suspension of their shares.”

While this would very possibly put the funds of players on the Boss Media network at risk, PokerTrillion claims that its customers have nothing to fear and that their money is safe.

Pyrah also added, “Owing to the massive irregularities surrounding Boss Media and their handling of PokerTrillion.com, this led to a number of contractual issues that in turn has led to us making some extremely exciting and important developments in the way in which we operate our business.”

One of these “exciting and important developments” may be PokerTrillion’s move to a different network, which it announced Tuesday.  On April 25, the poker room will become a member of the Everleaf Gaming Network.  Everleaf is one of the smallest networks in the industry, with only one even slightly recognizable name, poker4ever, on its roster.
