In 2006, the word “poker” was the top search term on the Lycos search engine, topping such popular searches as “Paris Hilton,” “Britney Spears,” “MySpace,” and “Pokemon.” For the week ended August 17, “poker” is back in the number one spot, having made the jump from seventeen. “Poker” has been in the Lycos 50 for 395 weeks, or over 7.5 years. The only terms that have been on the list longer are the aforementioned “Britney Spears,” “Pamela Anderson,” and “Dragonball,” all of which have been on the charts for 404 weeks.
