Poker Pro to Assist Minnesota Mayoral Candidate

You just never know where a helping hand might come from.

State Senator Dave Kleis, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, is holding a rally for his St. Cloud mayoral campaign next Monday at the Granite Bowl and professional poker player, Phil Gordon, is expected to be on hand to lend his support.

Gordon, co-host of Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown and two-time final table competitor at the 2005 World Series of Poker, first got to know Sen. Kleis after reading about a police raid of poker games at the Granite Bowl during July of last year. The raid sparked legislation which legalized poker tournaments in the state. Gordon even traveled up to Minnesota to testify in front of a Senate Committee.

The rally is scheduled to commence at noon, with a press conference to follow at 12:30pm.
