“Poker” Heads Lycos 50 Again

Last year, the word “poker” was the most-searched term on the Lycos search engine.  Call 2007 a repeat.  “Poker” topped the Lycos 50 once again this year, beating out long standing rivals MySpace, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears.   

Poker has been on the Lycos 50 for 412 weeks.  Only Spears, Pamela Anderson, and Dragonball have been on the list longer.  Rounding out the top ten were Golf, YouTube, Naruto, Disney, Pokemon, and WWE. 

Poker made the 2004 year-end list at number ten, and made it’s way up to number four by the end of 2005 before leading the field the following year.
