Hendon Mob Joins Team Full Tilt

The Hendon Mob, whose two year contract with Prima Poker ended in January, signed on with Full Tilt Poker on Tuesday. The Mob, which consists of four of the premier European players, Barny Boatman, Ross Boatman, Joe Beevers and Ram Vaswani, was the first group of pros to represent an online poker company. Combined, the four have won more than $5.3 million in their careers. They are the first European professionals on Team Full Tilt.

Freddy Deeb Joins Team Ultimate Bet

Affable poker pro, Kassem “Freddy” Deeb, as recently been named the newest member of team Ultimate Bet, joining Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Antonio Esfandiari, and Jim Worth, among others. Deeb is a fan favorite on the tournament circuit and has achieved over $2.8 million dollars in tournament winnings in his career. His most recent major tournament victory was at the 2005 Ultimate Poker Classic in Aruba, where he won $1 million. He also has thirteen World Series of Poker final table appearances, including one bracelet, in the $5,000 deuce-to-seven draw event in 1996.

World Poker Tour Finally Pulls a Profit

World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) announced its first quarter earnings Thursday, showing a profit of $3.6 million, or 17 cents per share. Analyst estimates were for a loss of 2 cents per share.

Revenues were also higher, at $6.5 million, up over 50% from the same quarter a year ago.

The success was attributed to growth in the WPT television series, as well as the company’s fledgling online poker room, WPTOnline.com.

WSOP H.O.R.S.E Date Changed

The dates for the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E event and the $5,000 2-7 draw lowball event at the WSOP have been flip-flopped. The H.O.R.S.E tournament will now run July 12-14, while the lowball tournament will be contested July 25-26. The changes were for television filming reasons.
