Online poker room, PKR.com, which features three-dimensional game play, has launched its first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) promotions. More than just large tournaments to win a seat the Main Event, PKR.com has added variety to its offerings, making for a set of unique opportunities to play in the biggest poker festival of year. Of course, there are the traditional Main Event seats up for grabs, but PKR.com has added a twist. The poker room will be giving away no fewer than five $12,500 WSOP packages in a tournament scheduled for May 25. But, instead of directing each winner to play in the Main Event, $10,000 of the prize will be given in WSOP lammers, to be used at any events the player chooses. They can be used to enter the Main Event or a few preliminary events. As one would expect, PKR.com is holding satellites to the big WSOP qualifier. But wait, there’s more. The poker room is also looking to field its first Team PKR to play in the World Series. PKR.com will hold special qualifiers to a handful of WSOP preliminary events, but it will not allow direct buy-ins to these qualifiers. Instead, players will have to earn their way in. For the $1,500 no-limit hold’em shootout qualifier, players must earn enough special promotional points by playing in six and ten handed S&G’s. For the $5,000 no-limit hold’em heads-up event, players must similarly qualify by earning points in heads-up S&G’s. To earn a seat in the $5,000 short-handed no-limit hold’em qualifier, PKR.com customers must garner at least 100,000 PKR points at the short-handed cash tables. Finally, PKR.com is holding “ladies only” satellites to earn entry into the WSOP $1,000 ladies no-limit hold’em event. On top of all of that, PKR.com is promising to award an additional $10,000 to any member of Team PKR who makes a final table at the World Series. If a team member wins a bracelet, will win a twelve month sponsorship in which PKR.com will pay for $100,000 worth of buy-ins to huge poker tournaments around the world. Get cracking!
