Phil Gordon to Leave

By Dan Katz
Published: Monday, November 07, 2005

In an exclusive interview last week with Poker News Daily, professional poker player and personality, Phil Gordon, revealed that he is leaving the television show, “Celebrity Poker Showdown”. The show, which Gordon co-hosts with actor Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall and NewsRadio), is in its seventh season on the Bravo network.

The reasons and timing of the departure are unknown at this time. Gordon broke the news when asked about the highest and lowest points in his poker career. His lowest point:

“Lowest point of my poker career was leaving 'Celebrity Poker Showdown'. I loved doing the show.”

“Celebrity Poker Showdown” pits five celebrities against each other each show in a No-Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament. A total of $250,000 is up for grabs to go to the celebrities’ charities of choice. Each player is guaranteed at least $5,000, with the overall champion of the entire season taking away $100,000 for his or her charity.
