Party Poker Adds Training Software to Poker Client

Online poker giant, Party Poker, recently added its new Poker Trainer feature to its popular software client. Powered by Poker Academy, one of the most popular poker teaching tools on the market, Poker Trainer is available for free.

With Poker Trainer, players can play for play money against computerized, or artificial intelligence, players so they can hone their skills in a risk-free environment. Currently, players can only play limit poker using Poker Trainer, but the package does offer the flexibility to play against anywhere from one to nine computer opponents, at three different skill levels.

Poker Trainer not only allows people to play for free against the computer, but it helps them learn along the way. The Hand Evaluator shows the hand’s value, the player’s chances of winning the hand, and pot odds. To go along with that, the Advisor actually provides recommended actions for the player. Stat keeping is also available.

This new addition to the Party Poker client may prove to be an excellent way for beginners to hop right in and get comfortable with the game in a more realistic game than they would get by joining a normal play money game. No more hands with eight people betting to the river. No more five-way all-ins. The players are fake, but the poker may very well feel real.
