PartyPoker.com, the internets largest poker room, has released the beta version of its new multi-platform poker application. And, unlike the previous beta release, real money play is available with the PartyPoker.com Anywhere Beta.
Anywhere Beta is a no-download, web-browser based application, compatible with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Users with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or higher, or Safari 1.3 or higher will be able to use it. Anywhere Beta does require Java, as well.
While Anywhere Beta is great because it allows poker players to login to Party Poker and play from anywhere right in their web browsers with no download, it does have its restrictions. Only the most basic features of the full software are available in this browser-based version. Features not included are:
Table filters Buddy lists and search Hand history Table search Private tables Poker Trainer Dealer options on the poker table Network status Table resizing, tiling and cascading
Slowly but surely, Mac users are finding themselves with more options for their online poker playing.
