It must be nice to be rich, be able to buy and do whatever you want, and then have people offer to replace your possessions for free when you are stupid enough to lose them. It must be nice.
So is the case for socialite Paris Hilton after losing a Bentley in a poker game at her family’s casino in Las Vegas (wow, I actually typed “loss” instead of “Las” at first – is therapy in order?). That’s right. She lost a Bentley. A £100,000 car.
There are no reports at this time as to what the losing hand was. Probably second low pair on a straight and flush board.
Apparently, having a losing poker player as a daughter is more embarrassing than having to deal with all the other things Paris Hilton does, because mommy and daddy have since banned her from gambling at their casino. Because seeing her act like an over-privileged moron on television and perform sex acts on the internet wasn’t bad enough.
But all is not lost for Miss Hilton. Oh, no. Online poker behemoth, Party Poker, has offered Hilton a chance to win a new car for free, just for besting Party’s poker room host, Mike Sexton, in a heads-up match on Party’s online site. Party Poker’s spokesman, Warren Lush, explained the publicity stunt:
“Paris has said she is mad about poker and that she always wins in Vegas. We're offering her the chance to get lucky and she doesn't even need to leave her house.”
Yes, because being born into good looks and astounding wealth wasn’t lucky enough.
