Palms Casino to Hold Million Dollar Freeroll

The Palms Casino, perhaps best known by the those not as familiar with poker as the venue of one of the “Real World” seasons, as well as the home of “Celebrity Poker Showdown,” intends to make its name known far and wide around the poker community. The trendy casino plans on holding a freeroll in 2007 with a prize pool of $1,000,000.

To qualify, players must play for at least 500 hours at the Palms poker room between January 1 and May 31. Obviously, this is geared towards the loyal grinders.

All is not, lost however, if you come in just a few hours shy. If fewer than 500 players qualify, the Palms may (note: may) allow seats to those with fewer than 500 hours logged, but those players would be handicapped in the tournament, starting with fewer chips than those who did meet the original requirements.

Sources say that the $1,000,000 prize pool is coming straight from the Palms Casino’s coffers, not from the additional rake that the poker room already collects for its high hand jackpots.
