Online Poker Room Updates

By Dan Katz
Published: Wednesday, October 04, 2006

As the initial panic surrounding the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act starts to (slowly) evolve into (semi) intelligent discourse, the fallout amongst online poker rooms continues. Some have already shut their doors to U.S. citizens, some have yet to make a decision, and some say nothing has changed.

Below is an update from Monday’s report on the various decisions the poker rooms have made.

Closed to the U.S.

Cryptologic Rooms – Sun Poker, InterPoker, William Hill Poker, Littlewoods Poker, The Ritz Club London, Betfair Poker, Poker Plex, Totalbet Poker, Classic Poker

Party Poker – will close to U.S. when President Bush signs the bill. Has already stopped interaccount transfers involving U.S. accounts

Titan Poker

Pacific Poker – will close to U.S. when President Bush signs the bill.

Boss Media – will close to U.S. when President Bush signs the bill.

Undecided

PokerStars

Ongame Network – PokerRoom, Hollywood Poker, Full Contact Poker

Prima Poker / Microgaming Network – some individual rooms have banned U.S. customers or customers from certain states.

Paradise Poker – mixed messages. Some reports have said Paradise will shut out U.S. players, while some reports have said they are undecided.
