Absolute Poker seems to have a new software update every other day, but normally, any changes made aren’t obvious to the players. Recently, the poker room implemented an update that actually did add some useful features. The first is the AbsoluteBuddy, a buddy list add-on, essentially identical to UltimateBuddy, UltimateBet’s (Absolute sister site) version. Fortunately, unlike UltimateBuddy, AbsoluteBuddy does not need to be downloaded separately – it is available directly from the lobby. With this add-on, you can create a list of players you would like to follow by either entering them manually or by clicking on a player at a table. Whenever a buddy logs into Absolute Poker, the software will notify you. Just like with an instant messaging program, you can see which buddies are online at any given time and can even be taken directly to their tables. You can also block a buddy from knowing you are logged in, but unfortunately, you cannot set a universal block so that nobody can see you. You can only block yourself from people already on your list. Final table deal-making is now part of select multi-table tournaments. At the final table, each player will see a “DEAL MAKING” button. If everybody pushes “YES,” the tournament will pause for 10 minutes so that a deal can be discussed. An administrator will assist and if a deal is made, will manually enter the payouts. Finally, two new ring game types – HORSE and HOSE – have been added. Stakes range from micro-limits to $100/$200.
