This week, Chartwell Technology, Inc. announced the launch of its new online poker network, PokerNexus. Unlike many networks that share customers and tables, PokerNexus is a network of independent poker rooms, each of which maintains strict confidentially and control of its players.
The rooms will be managed by Eliteclub Management R.V., which will provide Chartwell’s services to the licensees. These services include primarily the front and back-end software needed to run the poker games and manage player accounts.
Making the network an independent is an excellent idea - the poker room operators can do what they wish with their businesses, but at the same time have the critical mass afforded by being part of a larger network. PokerNexus only has two clients signed so far, so it may be an uphill battle to compete with the already established networks, but if it can grab some small victories along the way, its success may very well snowball into strong revenues.
