Now that Shana Hiatt’s path has been cleared to get back into televised poker, her new show is ready to go. She will be the host of NBC’s “Poker After Dark,” which is set to debut on January 2, 2007 at 2:05am.
“Poker After Dark” will feature some of the games top professionals battling it out in a six-handed, $20,000 buy-in tournament each week. The show will air every night except Sunday at 2:00am (or 2:05 if they are battling Tivo). The first five episodes of the week will show the hot poker action, with the championship airing on Friday. The Saturday episode will be the “director’s cut,” recapping the tournament and featuring that week’s winner discussing the play.
The show will rotate amongst various back rooms of Las Vegas casinos, giving the show a different look than the typical over-produced final tables of major tournaments. Among the names already lined up to play are Gus Hansen, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and Howard Lederer.
