Shawn Marion, the All-Star forward for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, will be hosting a charity poker event on January 30, open to anyone who is willing to buy-in for $1,000.  A number of professional athletes and entertainers are slated to participate in the Hearts & Helmets Celebrity Party and Charity Poker Tournament, including members of the Phoenix Suns and defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, Olympic decathlon gold medal winner Dan O’Brien, 2005 MLB World Series MVP Jermaine Dye, and actor Patrick Warburton, who played “Puddy” on Seinfeld.

All tickets for the event include a red carpet arrival, complimentary cocktails (which are always great when playing poker), free food, silent and live auctions, and entertainment.  The prizes and auction items are terrific.  Up for grabs are a WSOP seat, Super Bowl tickets, Super Bowl party passes, floor seats at a Suns/Spurs game, a private jet flight to Napa for a day, a private party on a yacht in San Diego, helicopter tours, plasma televisions, and more.

The event is scheduled for 4:30pm – 1:30am on January 30 at a location that will only be disclosed to registrants.  Those who which to purchase tickets can do so at allinforacause.org.

Many charities will benefit from the Hearts & Helmets event, including Autism Research, Alzheimer’s Associate, Brad Pitt’s Global Green USA Project for rebuilding New Orleans, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Fournier Center for Empowerment, Free Arts of Arizona, The Jerome Bettis Foundation, Junior Achievements, Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, and Suns Nite Hoops.
