I Have a Flush; Eat My Shorts

Nancy Cartwright, the long-time voice of Bart Simpson, will be hosting the second annual Monte Carlo night to benefit the Devonshire (California) PALS (Police Activities League Supporters) Youth Center for at-risk children on September 29.  Cartwright, who is also honorary mayor of the North San Fernando Valley, has opened up her home to the event, which will feature a no-limit Texas hold’em tournament, dinner, an auction, and other contests.

A $500 donation buys a seat in the tournament, as well as entry to the party.  For those interested in attending by not playing, the required donation is $250.

Some of the typical poker playing television celebrities are scheduled to play, including Brad Garrett, Danny and Chris Masterson and Laura Prepon.  Also playing will be former New England Patriots and University of Virginia football star, Chris Slade.  Anne Archer, Catherine Bell, Camryn Manheim, Sinbad, Julie Kavner (the voice of Marge Simpson and her sisters), Isaac Hayes and Bryan Cranston are listed as “honorary celebrity supporters,” presumably meaning they will be there, but will not play cards.

Tom Kenny, who voices another popular cartoon character, SpongeBob SquarePants, will be the emcee for the evening.  Other contests besides poker include pool, pinball, and Nintendo Wii.  Attendees can also enjoy a martini bar, the Zino Platinum Smoking Lounge, the Aha Toro Tequila Bar, dancing, and dinner.

Some of the prizes to be given away and auctioned off include an autographed Simpsons pinball machine, and cast-autographed Simpsons movie poster, a day on the set of 24, a tour of Fox studios, five $500 WSOP satellite seats, and four tickets to the American Idol finale.
