Microgaming Picks up Doyle’s Room

As was surmised here more than a month ago, online poker room Doyle’s Room has made the move to the Micrograming Poker Network.  Doyle’s Room is the fourth well known room to join Microgaming this year, following Eurolinx, Poker Host, and Gutshot.

Doyle’s Room, along with its associated Doyle Brunson Poker Network, was formerly part of the Tribeca Tables network.  Tribeca was purchased by Playtech, operator of the iPoker network and was fully migrated to the new platform last month.  In response to the anti-online gambling legislation in the U.S., iPoker stopped accepting U.S. customers months ago, whereas Tribeca waited until close to the merger to do the same.

It had been rumored for some time that Doyle’s Room would leave Tribeca/iPoker and join others on a new network that would allow U.S. customers, but this did not happen.  In February, Doyle’s Room assisted American players in transferring their accounts to competitor Full Tilt Poker, all but announcing that it was never going to service U.S. players again (or at least until the legal climate changes).  Confusion arose, however, when it looked like Doyle’s Room was going to switch to Microgaming, as that network does accept U.S. customers.

Alas, even though it is now on a U.S.-friendly network, Doyle’s Room will not reopen signups to Americans.
