Mac Users May Soon Have Another Option

While the advent of online poker has been a boon to poker fans everywhere, one group of people have consistently been left out in the cold: Macintosh users. The only viable option for the non-PC crowd has been PokerRoom.com because of its option to play via a Java client, rather than a downloadable application. It appears, however, that Mac users will soon have another choice for their online poker habit.

888.com, one of the most popular online casinos, has made its entire suite of games, including blackjack, craps, roulette, slots, and video poker, available to everyone with a Macintosh computer. Said Mike Herea, Promotions Department Manager for 888.com:

“Mac is the poor relation of the computer world when it comes to online casino compatibility. There were a considerable amount of Macintosh users out there who wanted to log onto 888.com but were unable to. We have rectified that.”

But that is just for the casino. What does this mean for poker players? After all, 888.com’s poker room, Pacific Poker, is one of the largest on the internet. Herea had answer for that exact question.

"With the World Series of Poker just around the corner we might have some more good news for Mac online poker players."

So, for now, Mac poker players will have to sit tight, but it looks like good things are on their way.
