“The Gambler” Kenny Rogers Opens Free Online Poker Room

Even though his nickname is “The Gambler,” three-time Grammy winner Kenny Rogers’ new online poker room involves no gambling whatsoever.  The site, TheGamblerPokerClub.com, requires no funding methods, no deposits, no buy-ins, nothing.  But while the poker tournaments are contested with play money, the prizes doled out are real. 

Rogers’ poker room is supported by sponsors, who supply the prizes.  Each day, players receive points for logging in.  They can they compete in poker games to increase their points “bankrolls.”  Each day, there are multi-table tournaments that require points to enter.  The 3:00pm and 5:00pm daily tournaments award small cash prizes, from $10 to $50, whereas the Sunday weekly awards prizes ranging from $500 to “priceless events” to other, larger, cash prizes.   

Additionally, on April 29, the site will give away a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker Main Event in a special tournament.  Satellites for the qualifier are held daily. 

The poker client for The Gambler Poker Club is flash-based, so no download is required.
