Jonathan Little Released as Full Tilt Pro

Published: Tuesday, March 04, 2008

Full Tilt Poker made a surprising announcement Tuesday, saying that the star online player, Jonathan Little, has been relieved of his status as a Full Tilt pro, just four months after the site made him a team member.

The powers that be at Full Tilt said that Little had violated its terms and conditions by allowing others to play on his account.

It is not known exactly how they found this out, but one glaring piece of evidence was the extremely high number of sit-and-go’s he played, particularly in February.  In just the first week of the month, he had played close to 1,300 sit-and-go’s.  By the end of the month, he had three times the number of points on Full Tilt’s high buy-in sit-and-go leaderboard as the second place finisher.  Essentially, his rate of play appeared inhuman.

What would motivate someone to allow others to play on his account when he himself is an excellent and feared player?  Greed, most likely.  With a deal that reportedly gave him 100% rakeback, he was bringing in tens of thousands of dollars in rakeback alone with that sort of volume of play.  Additionally, placing high on the tournament leaderboard is also a lucrative accomplishment.

Full Tilt did not give these as reasons why Little’s actions were wrong, even though they were tantamount to stealing from both Full Tilt and other players.  Full Tilt simply gave a very basic, and very valid, reason:

When a player on Full Tilt Poker plays against and chats with a red pro on the site, it is imperative that they be able to trust that it is really the advertised pro playing the account. Given that Mr. Little violated that trust, we have decided to sever his ties to the site, and close his account.”
