The field at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open narrowed from twenty-seven to six Monday, setting up the televised final table on Tuesday. Two well known pros, John Gale and John Hennigan, headline the group, but Joe Simmons is leading the way with $5.5 million in chips.
Simmons went into Monday second in chips and ended up doing much of his damage at the final table. He eliminated Joseph Cappello, John Racener, and David Redlin in seventh, eighth, and ninth places, respectively, to move on to the televised table with a nice head of steam.
Play will resume at 5:00pm EST on Tuesday and will go until we have a winner. The first player eliminated will receive over $276,000, while the winner will take home more than $1.6 million.
