The Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) had a good day on Friday. Courtesy of Jennifer Harman and 214 other poker players, the NSPCA received approximately $128,000, raised via a charity poker tournament hosted by Harman at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. As each buy-in donation was only $300 and re-donations were $200 through the first three levels (plus an add-on donation at the end of the third level), play was extremely loosey-goosey with a field largely comprised of high-stakes pros. Eli Elezra was the star of the show, pushing all-in blind eleven straight times at one point. When all was said and done, the original donations plus re-donations and add-ons added up to almost $102,000 for the Nevada NSPCA. The winner of the tournament was Kirk Morrison, who coincidentally sits amongst the chip leaders at the WPT Championship, which began the next day. He won a $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker Main Event and pledged to donate five percent of his winnings to the charity. Two auctions, one live and one silent, brought in $23,500, and t-shirt sales made up the rest of the haul for the charity.
