Ivey Named Bluff Magazine’s 2005 Player of the Year

It’s nice to win something even when you’re not actually playing poker. So was the case today for Phil Ivey, who was named Bluff Magazine’s 2005 Player of the Year.

Ivey won over $3.3 million in worldwide tournament play in 2005 and his third place ranking on the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) money list ranks only behind the top two finishers at the final table.

Highlights of his year include one WSOP bracelet, a twentieth place finish in the WSOP Main Event, two WSOP circuit championship final tables, two World Poker Tour final tables, and a tremendous Thanksgiving, where he won the Monte Carlo Millions, followed by a victory at the FullTiltPoker.net Invitational the very next day.

On top of all of that, he plays regularly in the biggest cash games in the world.

Ivey currently ranks second in the ongoing Bluff Magazine Power Rankings, which awards points for tournament finishes during the trailing 24-month period.
