High Stakes Poker Back for Another Season

The Game Show Network (GSN) and PokerPROductions announced Thursday that High Stakes Poker will return for a fifth season on the network.  High Stakes Poker has become arguably the most popular poker show amongst poker fans and has established itself as one of the most watched shows on GSN.

Despite its success, there was no guarantee that High Stakes Poker would be renewed.  The new management of GSN has been said to want to target a younger audience, and both High Stakes Poker and the World Poker Tour, which has run for one season on the network, skew older.  GSN recently declined its option for the World Poker Tour, but the Tour was picked up by Fox Sports Net.

Both Gabe Kaplan and AJ Benza will return as hosts of the show, which will start filming in September.  The location and eventual broadcast schedule has yet to be revealed.
