Riding the wave of 2005’s continued poker boom, as well as the success of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Harrahs’ License Company has partnered with Glu Mobile to publish WSOP-branded mobile content. You know, because there’s never a bad time to satisfy your WSOP fix.
Content will include games, graphics, applications, and ringtones (yes, poker ringtones). Development and publishing will start this year.
Harrah’s teamed up with America Online in 2005 for its online gaming offering, as well Activision for console gaming. With this entry into the mobile market, it looks like the next move is, what, a WSOP board game? Maybe partner with Milton Bradley?
Glu Mobile currently has partnerships with companies like Fox Sports, Cartoon Network, Atari, and Twentieth Century Fox, to name a few.
