Harrah’s Entertainment announced this morning that starting this year, it will be taking its signature poker tournament series across the Atlantic with the debut of the World Series of Poker Europe.

It will be held across three casinos in London, Fifty, Leicester Square and the Sportsman, September 6-16. The casinos are operated by London Clubs International, which is owned by Harrah’s.

Leicester Square will host two preliminary events. The first, a ₤2,500 (approximately $4,900) H.O.R.S.E. event, will begin September 6 and run for three days. The second, a ₤5,000 (approximately $9,800) pot-limit Omaha tournament, will begin September 8 and run for two days.

The ₤10,000 (approximately $19,600) No-Limit Texas Hold’Em Championship starts on September 10 and see the field divided across the three participating casinos. The players will be combined at Leicester Square on September 13 and will play through September 16.

Said WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, “This new tournament has been designed with European players in mind, but registrants from every country are welcome. We hope it becomes an annual tradition for poker enthusiasts and a home for WSOP fans after the action concludes in Las Vegas each summer.”
