Full Tilt Begins Rakeback Experiment

For many online poker players, rakeback is a great secondary stream of income.  For many others, rakeback at their favorite site is only a dream, as they missed their chance the first time they signed up without it.  Full Tilt Poker entered the rakeback fray later than some sites, and thus hoards of players missed out on the perk, having already signed up for the poker room.

Aside from an ultra-short period of time, Full Tilt has always been firm on not allowing players to convert their accounts to rakeback accounts.  Until now.

In a limited rollout, Full Tilt has e-mailed a “…select group of loyal players that have played on our site without the ability to receive rakeback,” and is now allowing them to create new accounts with the rakeback feature.  The chosen few are directed to an affiliate site, from which they can read instructions on how to signup.  Those who had already signed up through an affiliate, however, are not eligible.

As word got out that these e-mails were being sent, there was some confusion, as nobody was sure if the affiliate site was legit or a clever phishing attempt.  Full Tilt reps have confirmed that the e-mail and website are genuine.  As of now, they said, this is just a test to see how things work out.  The rakeback offer may or may not be expanded in the future.
