Full Tilt Seeking College Advertisers

Full Tilt Poker recently sent e-mails to players offering to pay anyone with a website that has an .EDU extension who puts a link to Full Tilt on their page. Not everybody got this e-mail; it was probably sent only to those of college age.
The online poker room will review pages of those interested on an individual basis, probably adjusting their payment offer based on the traffic it foresees.
Frankly, this is a bizarre offer by Full Tilt. In today’s online poker environment, it seems very dangerous for a poker room to actively encourage college students to advertise its service. With poker under attack from the morality police, to even hint at encouraging teenagers to gamble can’t be a good idea. The motivation behind this is puzzling.
After introducing the promotion this week to encourage people to join the Poker Players Alliance, Full Tilt has now taken a step backward in its efforts to help online poker’s cause.
